Well, language should not be the main concern of learning any knowledge. Of course they are a lot of suggestions and researches saying that we learn better in the language we understand the best.
However, in this case I wonder whether the students can't learn or the teachers can't teach. I am quite sure it is the latter. So if the teachers can't teach we should teach the teachers and not reverse the policy.
Besides that, why spend 6 years fighting for the medium of instruction and not the content of the program? To be very frank I can say that our Maths curriculum is about 4-5 years behind Japan, 3-4 years behind Singapore & China and maybe we are lacking to Thailand and Indonesia as well. Sad but I think this is the reality.
I think the least that we can do is to maintain teaching Science in English. Or learn it during secondary schools.
Well, I am quite disappointed. Really

for me,it's a good decision by the government to return maths n science back to the original language..for your information,not all students like english subject.some of them have an interest in math but not in english.so when the government make rules of teaching english in science and math,it's hard for some of the students to take it.they will lost interest with the subject that they prefer most such as math or science.many students say about that to me.. actually not many students would like to take the challenge(learn maths and science in english). maybe the good students are but not for the average students.they just wanted to have fun in school without pressure..that's it..so, that's why I'm very glad with the government decision.
im a 20 years old student. im studying in Egypt but currently in Malaysia. while in Malaysia, i was watching this one teleshow hosted by Zamzarina Zamri if im not wrong in TV1. In that show,you & miss tengku Faizwa are invited to share some memory techniques. i actually kinda followed some of the techniques before this because i joint a camp hosted by one singaporean guy. & totally true! to make memorize easier. it should be transformed to pictures. so,good job! well done! spread the 'secret'.
well, my opinion. the governt shouldnt have changed it back to bahasa. because to me learning Math & Science in English is easier! well,maybe because i was taught in English but then when i see the word penyejatan,etc. i dont understand. its easier when i see evaporation! & yes, my english kinda bad but at least i think my english have improved since i learned math & science in english.
& btw.i kinda 40% agree that some teachers (SOME ONLY OKAY) just cant teach in english. its hard for them u know. they got a diploma or degree all whis while learning in bahasa & suddenly they have to teach in english. & its even harder for teachers who have taught for so many years in bahasa. so,give them some time right?
