Is like that one?

I must say that this is one of the favourite excuse given by Malaysians in the service industry.

Last week I brought my sis-in-law Satria Neo for regular servicing. I complained to the service personnel that the brake is making some squeaking sound when reversing and ask them to check for me. Do you know what was his response? "Is like that one!"

I was so surprised and shocked! How can you give me this response even without taking a look at it?

I kept quiet because I do not want to create chaos. Then I told him that the air-cond is not working right. The passenger's air-cond outlet was blocked. He says that he will check for me. After about 1 hour, I received I call from the service outlet that the car is ready. I was happy that it was faster than what I have expected. However, when I start the car and turn on the air-cond the air didn't come out from the driver's outlet. I ran to the office and told them about the situation and guess what is their response? IS LIKE THAT ONE! Isn't is classic? He say both the passenger's and the driver's air-cond outlet share the same air-cond hose, so it will be either one outlet that will have air blowing out. He said I told him the passenger's outlet is not working so they fixed it!!!!!! Just like what was told to him.!!!!!

Well, what can I say is like that one!

Few days later, I went to a watch shop to complain about my Water Resist watch that suppose to be able to stand 10 bar pressure. However, it was not working accordingly. Water enter the watch and suddenly the watch can't work. The shopowner changed the battery and he say he can't find anything wrong with the watch but told me not to wear it for swimming and be careful when I wash my hand!!!! I ask him isn't my watch suppose to be water resistant? It is clearly printed Water Resist 100m. Do you know what did he say? Oh sometimes only in writing. Is like that one!!!!!

Huh! Is like that one?????

The moral of the story, how do people can stand all this nonsense? Malaysians should change their mentality; cheap product or service doesn't equal bad or poor service. We shouldn't hide behind this phrase. How to achieve first class nation if everyone is behaving and thinking "Is like that one?"

Blame My Keyboard

Well, sorry for not posting anything for the last few months.

Thanks to Maria for suggesting to me that I should post something. :)

I have been going around meeting some interesting people. That is why I didn't work as engineer because I enjoy meeting and talking to people rather than scrutinising pipelines and chemical plants. Although I am quite a good engineer. ;) I think I saved around RM 300K for my company during my first month working as Technical Trainee during my industrial attachment. See I told you that I am quite a good engineer. :)

Well, enough bragging.

Recently, I went back to my hometown; Raub. I saw one of my neighbours. I think he is about 10 years younger than me. When I saw him, it reminds me about his childhood days where he tries to befriend with other kids his age around the neighbourhood. The other kids seem to "bully" him because he can't commnicate with them. What do you expect he is the only Indian boy in the group of 6-7 Chinese kids. But I noticed things change quite rapidly, from using his limbs and facial expressions to commnicate, he improved to smuttering some basic Cantonese, then about 6 months time he can speak perfect Cantonese! I think his Cantonese must be perfect because his recent girlfriend is Chinese. Well, most of his girlfriends were Chinese!

Things have changed. Now, the few Chinese boys do not "bully" him anymore. To make things interesting the Indian boy is now the de facto leader of the group because he can speak Cantonese, Bahasa Malaysia, English and Tamil better than anyone of them.

The moral of the story is our brain can learn any language.

See you next time. ;)
