Welcome Back

Pheww, now I know that having a blog is never easy. Well, it is not that easy for me. I have no experience of keeping diary thus updating a blog is quite a challenge for me. Well, I must say that it is a very close call. I almost abandon the blog that I started sometime back.

I just settled down in my office after crazy schedule; Terengganu, Jakarta, Kuantan, Terengganu and catching up the meetings and trainings. Luckily I managed to come back to KL before the ECH is flooded.

Overall, it has been a very productive AWOL. I am now in the middle of organizing Terengganu Mind Festival 2008. I personally believe that it will be an interesting event. Very worth visiting. It will be held from January 18th to January 21st, 2008. I am rushing mad to fill up the exhibition booths, arranging local and international speakers and also some famous and successful sports personality as icon for Champion's Corner.

Just in case anyone is interested, do drop by at Terengganu Trade Centre, Kuala Terengganu from 18th January to 21st January 2008.

Till we meet again.

Early Birds Get The Worms

This morning I woke up around 5.30 am because I was invited to attend BNI Ampang Chapter. We were suppose to reach the Banker's Club at 6.30 am. Oh my god! Can you imagine how industrious these people are? I told myself if I need any business help I think they will be my first choice. They must be a responsible and hardworking group of business people. I really salute them for their productivity.

One of my friends who is now a multiple business owner told me if he can reduce sleeping hours by 2 hours a day, he will earn 14 hours a week, 60 hours a month and 730 hours a year. He says with this he has got extra 30 days a year compare to other people. So he will have an unfair advantage compare to other people.

Well, in my opinion that is correct mathematically it might not be true in terms of brain productivitiy. I am strong believer that we need 1 hour sleep to work 2 hours effectively. That is how you should divide your 24 hours in a day; 8 hours sleep at night and 16 hours awake in the day. That is why when you sleep less or more the equilibrium will not be correct. And remember that I say sleep at night and not during the day.

Anyway still much kudos to those who wakes up and early and forgo their sleep to make the world a better place.

Bye2 To Anita Roddick

Although I don't know her personally and have not met her in person, I must say that Anita Roddick is one of the most successful creative female entrepreneur in the world. She started The Body Shop back in 1976 and now it has more than 2300 outlets around the world. L'oreal bought The Body Shop for USD 1.2 billion in year 2006. With these figures, I must say that Anita Roddick is so successful. How many of us would be able to achieve what Anita Roddick has achieved?

Anita Roddick is very creative and defy all the odds. She is a good thinker; a creative one on top of that. Her business model is a very good example of Reverse Thinking. The first one is when she insist on The Body Shop's logo. I think some experts feel that the logo is too plain and will not survive but she proved them wrong. Today, The Body Shop's logo is one of the most recognizable logo in the world.

When you sell beauty products, I believe many of us will very much focus on the benefits of the product to its users but Anita simply do the opposite. She sells her products by focusing on the fact that her products are not tested on animals. And guess what? It works like magic. It is so successful that it manage to gain support from NGOs like Greenpeace and gain worldwide recognition. Her ideas about environmentally friendly and chemical free beauty products won her titles such as "Ethical & Enviromental Beauty Queen" and "Queen of Green". This is something that is done totally opposite of the beauty industry trend where most of the products are built on women's insecurity (but do make ups really make them secure? I know without make ups some of them are really insecure It seems now some men also insecure without make ups. )

Sad that she passed away yesterday because of brain hemorrhage. Anita was having problem with her liver because of Hepatitis C virus infection. She was infected with the virus some 35 years ago. She just got to know about the infection last 2 years. Well, I think the knowledge of the infection make her health suffer. And I think I am right to say that most of the patient especially potentially deadly disease patients will die faster when they know that they are infected compare to those who are infected with the same disease but do not know about it.

It has got something to do with your mind. When the doctors tell patients that they are dying because of cancer, I shall say most of them die according to the schedule given by the doctors. This is because their mind were programmed to die according to the doctors prediction. Well, I shouldn't continue the debate under this title. Maybe on other days.

Well, good bye Anita Roddcik. One of the most successful Reverse Thinkers that the world has seen.

One Year Ago.

One of my proudest moment. My First Book Launch by The First Lady of Malaysia, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah bt. Mohd Ali, well she is the wife of Tun Dr Mahathir b. Mohamad, Prime Minister of Malaysia from 1981 - 2003. I think she can be referred as the First Lady of Malaysia. (I know, Former First Lady to be exact).
But this book was launch in Sept 2006, which is one year ago. By the way, have you bought one? Or you want a signed copy from me? :)
I am in the process of writing a new book. It will be in Bahasa Malaysia this time. Hope I will be able to finish it before October 2007.

Virgin Posting

Hello, it has been quite sometime that I read blogs and finally I am joining the bandwagon of bloggers. I actually wanted to start a political blog but it may sound politically incorrect so it would be better for me to stick to what I do best which is mind, memory, thinking, learning and cr8tivity.

I hope with this blog I will be able to share some of my thoughts and opinions about mind, memory, learning, thinking and cr8tivity.

Please feel free to post your comments so that we can have some healthy banters about your mind and my mind. :)

Cheers,

Lim Teck Hoe
Your Not So Normal Memory Guy :)
